Frequently Asked Questions

No, our guitar tuner works directly in your web browser. No downloads or installations required.

Yes, our tuner works with any type of guitar - acoustic, electric, or classical.

Our tuner is highly accurate and compares favorably with dedicated hardware tuners.

Absolutely! The tuner is responsive and works on smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers.

The tuner needs to listen to your guitar strings to detect their pitch. We never record or store any audio.

First, click the "Start Tuning" button and allow microphone access. Then, play one string at a time and observe the tuner's response. If the pointer is to the left, the string is too low and needs to be tightened; if it's to the right, it's too high and needs to be loosened. When the pointer is centered and shows green, the string is in tune.

The standard guitar tuning from the thickest string to the thinnest is: E (bass), A, D, G, B, E (treble).

A cent is a unit of measurement for musical pitch, equal to one half-step (e.g., from C to C#). Our tuner shows the deviation of your string from perfect pitch in cents.

A4 is the international standard pitch, set to 440 Hz by default. Some musicians or bands may use a slightly different standard (e.g., 442 Hz). Adjusting A4 allows you to calibrate the tuner according to your specific needs or preferences.
